Walking the streets of Manhattan you see the Sabretts push cars everywhere.  While these may not be in your town, you can make their special onion relish with this copy cat recipe. 
 
1 1/2 Tsp Olive Oil 
2  Medium Onions, sliced thin and chopped 
3  Cups Water
2 Tbsp. Tomato Paste
2 Tsp. Corn Syrup
1 Tsp Cornstarch
1/2 Tsp. Salt

You know sometimes you just want to stretch that food budget just a little more.

While this recipe may no longer be practical this was one of my favorites as a child. This one is obviously old, my mom used to make them like this before convenience food.

Bourbon, ketchup, and brown sugar, make for a rich sauce. The longer this gets to simmer the better it tastes.
