How to Interpret Can Sizes

Perhaps many of you have old recipes that contain can sizes.  It can be a mystery in trying to guess how much a size really is now days.  Here is a handy chart with that information. Can Size Number Approximate Volume Approximate Weight No. 1 picnic 1 1/4 Cups 10.5 oz to 12 oz. No. 300 1 3/4 Cups 14 to 16 oz. No. 303 2 Cups 16 to 17 oz. No. 2 2 1/2 Cups 20 oz. No. 2 1/2 3 1/2 Cups 27 to 29 oz. No. 3 5 3/4 Cups 51 oz.
