History of Fudge Jumbles Cookie Bars

As a child of the 1980s, I enjoyed Pillsbury Fudge Jumbles and have wanted to recreate this cookie bar recipe for a long time. Now, if you were a child of the 1980s or any other decade, you too can make and enjoy these cookies at home. If you’ve been searching and searching for a good fudge jumbled Pillsbury recipe, I do believe you’ve found it.

Fudge Jumbles came from the Pillsbury boxed Fudge Jumbles mix. They were an oatmeal bar cookie with a rich chocolate fudge-like layer. I have always missed these scrumptious cookies, and thanks to having some time off from work, I was able to put together a version of these that I hope you enjoy.

What Happened to Fudge Jumbles?

In spite of these oatmeal cookie bars being so delicious, the Pillsbury boxed mix was discontinued a few years after it was introduced. But not to worry, you don’t have to rely on Pillsbury because now you have this copycat recipe. These cookies are sweet and rich with butter, eggs, and condensed milk and will definitely satisfy your chocolate cravings.

For this oatmeal fudge bar recipe, I used higher quality chocolate with a 70% cacao rating. However, if you don’t want to do this, I recommend substituting semi-sweet chocolate chips. These oatmeal fudge bars set up very firm and store well, making them perfect for bringing to a party. I love this comment from a reader:
