Thanksgiving can seem like a daunting meal. With a little planning You can prepare a meal that won’t stress you out too much. I am including a wrap up of my favorite Thanksgiving recipes.
Included here are some suggestions for Thanksgiving, I will say that there are some items that can be made ahead of time to make your life easier. I think one of my best tricks for Thanksgiving is to plan out the meal, and make everything ahead of time that I can. For me, this means making the side dishes ahead of time, and heating them up when you are ready to serve. I also like to add lots of appetizers so your friends and family can nosh on favorites before dinner. I find if you don’t have many people staring at you hungry you can run a little late and it is ok.
All recipes suggested below are dishes you can make ahead of time. Many of these recipes have videos so if you feel unsure, watch the video.
My Appetizer Choices Are:
Frantastic Jalapeno Poppers – These are bacon wrapped and can be wrapped the day before, and baked when you are ready to serve. This recipe has a video.
Luby’s Stuffed Jalapenos – These are cream cheese stuffed and you can make these up to 2 days ahead of time.
Marinated Mozzarella Salad – Fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, green onions, and more are mixed together and can be served with crostini. You can do this one up to three days ahead of time.
Fresh cut vegetables served with ranch dip
Boston Market Sweet Potatoes – You can use sweet potato puree, I buy mine at Whole Foods, assemble this one, the day before and bake on Thanksgiving. This recipe has a video.
Quick and Easy Broccoli Rice Casserole – This one has been used for my family many times. This recipe has a video.
Green Bean Bundles – I swear these are magical. I have never served these and had any left.
Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Bacon – Cut everything up the day before and then roast just before serving.
Olive Garden Pumpkin Cheesecake – This is one you definitely need to make the day before.
– If you can measure and stir you can make this. You can make this one the day ahead, or this one you could easily toss into the often while you eat your Thanksgiving Dinner.
