I recently went back into the cooking kitchen for another set of videos. Popeyes Red Beans and Rice have been one of my most requested recipes over the years. It has been my dream to make a extensive video library in the next year. So when thinking of what videos to include, I knew this one had to be shot. These red beans and rice are remarkable and easy to make.
Many of us don’t have the time to soak beans overnight, and then cook them for a long time. Granted it isn’t hard to make a pot of beans from scratch, but you can’t do it in a single evening when you come rushing home from work, and when you want to have dinner that night. We are using canned beans here to help save some time. Also, while Popeyes doesn’t use ham hocks, I do. Why? I think they give a better flavor pay off in a shorter amount of time. Also, you end up with edible bits of meat that you can enjoy when you eat the red beans and rice.
You can find the recipe for the Popeyes Red Beans and Rice here.
If you want to save time on cooking rice, consider using minute rice, or even the boil in a bag rice, both are very easy to prepare and turn out quite well.
