Who doesn’t just love macaroni and cheese? This macaroni and cheese is a wonderfully spicy version. While it is spicy it is not too hot. The juice from the jalapeno peppers adds just the right touch. This is a great recipe to bring to a party because it has some extra kick to it.

This recipe for Jimmy Buffet's Spicy Macaroni and Cheese is a not too hot side dish. If you use pickled jalapeno peppers, like the ones you use for nachos, this isn't too hot. By using the cream cheese in this recipe, this is a very creamy dish that is easy to prepare.

Why is the flour added after everything else? Does it thicken it? I have never heard of a roux made this way. Does it taste floury or uncooked? Was wondering if it was a misprint. LOL

SO delicious! I thought the jalapenos with the juice were going to be too much and too spicy, but it was perfect. I’d use the rue (minus the Jalapeno’s, just the juice) for a soup, too!

I used panko breadcrumbs, and more than what the recipe called for to top off the mac and cheese. Soaked up some of the grease I thought I’d see on the top, and added the perfect texture to each bite.

I thought the same thing too, but it really works.
