Oreo Truffles

The Oreo Truffles is a recipe that I have seen many times floating around for a couple of years now.  Oreo Truffles are so easy to make.  I brought the Oreo Truffles to the office holiday party that they had at work today.   Easy to make, the Oreo Truffles and they taste delicious, these truffles are much easier to make than the chocolate kind, and they make wonderful gifts.

Oreo Truffles

Turn those Oreos into something special.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Oreos, crushed
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 pound white dipping chocolate, also known as almond bark

Instructions

Crush the Oreo's into the bowl of your electric mixer; add cream cheese that has been cubed. Run mixer for a little bit; it will all come together and be rather mushy, tacky. Chill for one hour. Then take spoonfuls (or a small cookie scoop) and make small balls, then dip into the melted almond bark (almond bark can be melted in the microwave). Place on waxed paper and let set up. There are good cold or room temperature. They also freeze well.

A lady made these for a New Year’s party this year. She put a maraschino cherry in the center and used Godiva white chocolate to cover them. I think it made them much fancier! They were wonderful…I had no idea they were so simple.

I make these as well… Really great with a tsp of peppermint extract mixed in. Also, I dip them in semisweet chocolate and drizzle colored white chocolate over them! These are a huge hit at all family functions

These are great! I make them every year for my holiday goodie plates. You can really get creative with them, too. They are really pretty when dipped in white or dark chocolate, then drizzled with the alternate color. You can also color the white chocolate with some festive food coloring. Sprinkle them with candycane or chopped nuts. Make them with different flavored oreos. I even made some where I mixed shredded coconut or fruit jam into the oreo mix. You can really go nuts with these!!

I’ve been making these for years. They are fabulous!! I make them with mint oreos and sprinkle them with crushed candy canes for Christmas. Make sure you don’t make them too big because they’re pretty rich.
