Hot Buttered Rum Mix

This recipe was sent in by a fellow viewer.  The recipe was her Father’s. It’s great for sipping around a campfire on a cold night!  I especially like this recipe because the mix is delicious, and honestly better than I have purchased.  It makes about two pints, and you will have enough for yourself, and to give to a special friend.

Serve it hot…..i mean i havent tried it cold but hot just is the way i like it…..i also like the cin. stick idea, if u are always gonna use one i would take away 1/4 of the cin. in the actual mix. Again only if u are always gonna put a cin. stick in it. Just and idea. Its fun to play around with recetpes. I did last night with the Outback Steakhouse Bloomin Onion Sauce. Put some sugar in it just about, well as much as you want, It was amazing on fried pickles.and on a Hamburger

I love the taste of Buttered Rum but do not drink alcohol. Is there a substitution for the rum?

I don’t know of a substitute for Rum. Maybe you could put this in milk?

This is Mari. Yes, this was my father’s recipe. I might add, that this past winter I made this for a group of friends (constantly!) They like spiced rum, so why not? I tried it with the spiced rum….delicious.

I would definately serve this warm. To be extra fancy you may want to put a cinnamon stick in your cup.
