History of Kool-Aid

Believe it or not, the history of Kool-Aid began in Nebraska. Edwin Perkins was responsible for creating this powdered drink mix in the 1920s.

Originally sold in candy and grocery stores, this famous drink mix would grow in popularity. In the 1950s it would gain the smiling kool-aid pitcher we would all grow to love.

You can also chop or mince your fruits and stir them in after stirring in the cool whip, just make sure that the fruits are well drained to prevent adding more liquid to the mix. This is one of our family favorite recipes for desserts. We’ve been making Kool-Aid pie for gosh about 15 to 17 years now…
