Fat Ronnie’s Fried Onion Rings

Between 1974 – 1976 in Topeka Kansas when our family was young we would stop for a bag of onion rings before we spend the day at the pool. The onion rings were always served in a brown paper bag.

I’m “Fat Ronnie’s” wife. He would be so glad to see so many people still enjoying the food he prepared! For a time, he had two restaurants in Topeka – both with a sub sandwich counter, a Mexican food counter, and a BBQ counter. He enjoyed all of the foods he prepared but I think the most popular were the onion rings and mushrooms. Ron died in 2014 after a long battle with diabetes and lots of diabetes-related complications.
