Pimento Cheese Spread
Instead of buying the premade stuff, my family makes this instead. This is just as tasty as what you would buy in the grocery store, and it tastes so much better.
1 Tbsp. flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbsp. butter
1 lb. pasteurized process American cheese
1 (4-ounce) jar pimentos
2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
Salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbsp. butter
1 lb. pasteurized process American cheese
1 (4-ounce) jar pimentos
2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine first 6 ingredients in a small saucepan; cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; pour over cheese and mash to blend ingredients. Add pimentos, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper; mix well. Store in refrigerator.
