Creamy Waldorf-Astoria Salad
This is a tasty classic. Waldorf-Astoria salad combined apples, cream cheese, celery, pineapple and nuts into a creamy sauce. This is even better during the fall when the apples are fresh from their harvest.
1 (3-oz.) pkg. Cream Cheese (softened at room temperature)
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. orange or pineapple juice
3 large unpeeled apples, cubed
1 (8 oz.) can pineapple tidbits, drained
2 Tbsp. finely chopped celery
2 Tbsp. chopped pecans
2 Tbsp. golden raisins
Leaf Lettuce
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. orange or pineapple juice

Leaf Lettuce
Combine cream cheese, sugar and juice in small bowl; stir well and set aside.
Combine remaining ingredients except lettuce in medium bowl. Add cream cheese mixture to apple mixture; toss gently. Cover and chill several hours. Toss again. Serve in lettuce-lined bowl.
