Fennel seeds are an ingredient that is found in the italian sausage that is used in this soup. You can add some additional fennel seeds to this soup for an added flavor.

I have copycat on this recipie also but one thing that i see is there is no mention of fennel for the original tast it needs to be added

Thanks for this recipe. I truly enjoyed it! I have a ton of food allergies and look forward to finding recipes for restaurant meals I can fix at home. I also will NOT order this soup at Olive Garden any more as I like this one better.

This recipe is one of many on copykat that is great! I just cooked 3 pots of this for several family members on this cold day in FL. I think this recipe is better than OG’s and I dont eat theirs anymore. And of course I add a little extra of eveything because it’s mine and makes the flavor oh so better. If you want it to be exactly like OG’s then go there and eat it but thanks CopyKAT

I have found that the Zuppa with bacon is better. The receipe listed is a slight variation to what I have on Zuppa, but overall really close. The thing that I find funny is that I do not order Zuppa at Olive Garden anymore because I like mine better. PS. Use ground Italian Sausage instead. It spreads the flavor better!!

I’ve made this recipe many times! I think it taste better when I make it than at the restaurant. I don’t care for the ground sausage at OG.

Thanks for the recipe I will be trying it out tommorrow so wish me luck I will let you know how it goes. I enjoy cooking and baking so any good ideas are a help besides most people add a little something or take a little somehing out if you are a cook you know that you should always find a way to make it your own. I drain the bacon fat, inbetween the bacon and the sausage, you really have enough fat in there.
