Cover your working area with newspaper. Spread the peanut butter on with a spoon, coating the pinecones well. Older children may want to use a plastic knife. Pour birdseed into a large bowl, and roll peanut butter coated pinecone into seeds, coating well. Hang completed pinecone in a tree with string.
