Ice Box Cookies
This recipe came from my husband’s Grandmother. These are a favorite, and generally the dough never makes it to be baked!
1/2 C. Margarine
1 C. Sugar
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 Egg
1 3/4 C. Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 C. chopped Nuts
1 C. Sugar
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 Egg
1 3/4 C. Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 C. chopped Nuts
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg and bean until blended. Sift dry ingredients together, and add nuts. Gradually add to sugar mixture stirring after each addition. Shape into long rolls on waxed paper. Chill in refrigerator for several hours. Slice into 1/8 to 1/2 inch think. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 400 degrees for about 7 minutes.
