What You Call It Cake

This is an amazing cake to make from scratch, this is filled with pineapple, walnuts, and has a simple to make creamy frosting.  You can have this delicious cake ready in less than an hour.   Source Virginia McDowell. Jefferson City, Mo. 1969

Piece of What you Call it Cake

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
20 ounce can (#2 can crushed pineapple) (juice and all)
Mix together all ingredients and pour into 9×13″ greased pan.
Sprinkle 1-cup brown sugar and 1-cup walnuts over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Topping:

3/4 cups butter, ( 1 1/2 sticks)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Bring butter, sugar, evaporated milk, and vanilla to a boil, and pour over cake while still warm.
