The flavor was great, but it wasn’t exactly like Popeyes beans and rice. On my second attempt I added some cooked bacon to the recipe and came ALOT closer to that Popeyes beans and rice flavor. You might want to try adding bacon and observe the difference in flavor. Thank you again. I’m making this for my mardi gras potluck and think it’s going to be great.
