This is a rich and dense chocolate cake with chocolate icing. This is one of my favorite cakes my Grandmother used to make. Source Virginia McDowell. Jefferson City, Mo. 1982

2 sticks butter
4 eggs
2 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
2 C. sugar
1 1/2 C. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 C. chopped nuts
1 pkg. large marshmallows
Melt butter and cocoa. Pour the rest of ingredients in and mix with the exception of the nuts, add last, and mix again. Pour into a 8 x 11 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
Place marshmallows on top and place cake back into the hot oven to soften the marshmallows. Remove from oven and press together.
Icing
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 stick butter
1/3 C. milk
2 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
Mix together and pour over the cake.
