This is my mom’s recipe for Coca Cola cake. We had this so many times when growing up. Source Judy Eynard. Independence, MO. 1969.

Coca Cola Cake

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup Coca cola
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup small marshmallows
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups flour
3/8 cup cocoa
Combine butter, cola in a small pan. Bring to boil. Remove from heat and add marshmallows, cool. Beat eggs, and vanilla together and add milk and soda. Sift sugar, flour, and cocoa together and add the liquid and dry ingredients alternating. Mix well. Bake at 350 degrees until well done.
