Applesauce Cake

2 C. warm Applesauce
1 1/2 C. Sugar
1 C. Shortening, heated
2 Eggs
2 tsp. Baking Soda
3 C. Flour
1 tsp. Cloves
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 C. Raisins
1/2 C. chopped Nuts
1 1/2 C. Sugar
1 C. Shortening, heated

2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 C. Raisins
1/2 C. chopped Nuts
Heat applesauce, and sugar. Mix together flour, baking soda, raisins, nuts, and spices. Add the sugar mixture to the flour mixture. Add heated shortening and beat until soft. Add eggs and beat until well blended. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees.
