Sara’s Butter Cake

This cake combines a boxed cake mix, and cream cheese, and best of all does not need to be frosted.  This recipe has received many glowing reviews in the past.

1 (18 oz.) yellow cake mix
1 stick butter
1 egg
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2 eggs
2 3/4 C. powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together the cake mix, butter, and egg. Pat into a greased 9 by 13 inch pan. Mix together cream cheese, 2 eggs, and powdered sugar. Beat this mixer together for 3 minutes. Pour over cake dough. Bake for 40 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar while still warm. Cut into squares or bars.
