Colonel Sanders Chess Pie

February 4, 2009

Colonel Sanders made Chess Pie! His recipe for Chess Pie is an old fashioned pie. Chess pie is a simple pie that tastes wonderful. You can’t put together a delicious pie easier than this. This recipe came from a booklet Colonel Sanders put out in 1964. The wording is extremely choppy, but these are the Colonel’s recipes. He did not include his Chicken Recipe in this booklet.

Colonel Sanders Chess Pie

4 egg yolks
1 C. cream
1 C. sugar
1/2 C. butter
1/2 Tbsp. Cornstarch
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Nutmeg

Cream butter and sugar well. Add other ingredients. Pour into an unbaked crust. Bake in oven 350 degrees until done. (sic) I would guess this is about 30-40 minutes, my figure could be wrong. It is suggested that you top the Pie with meringue.
