Country Beef Pie
Casseroles are delicious ways to help save money. Ground beef, mushrooms, rice, cheese and other ingredients help make for a tasty casserole.
1 C. tomato sauce
1 lb. ground beef
1 can mushrooms
1/4 C. green pepper, chopped
1/2 C. cracker crumbs
1/2 C. onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine these ingredients and mix well. Pat meat mixture into pie pan and set aside.
Filling
1 3/4 C. Minute Rice
1 1/2 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 C. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 C. grated cheddar cheese
Combine filling ingredients and 1 cup cheese. Pour rice into meat shell. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Return uncovered to the oven and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes.
